The classic American vacation is a family trip to some exotic, tropical destination. The problem these days is which tropical destination do you pick? With the world at your fingertips, where on Earth, quite literally, should you go on vacation?

Might we make a polite recommendation? We think La Vista villa in Villas Cofresí, Dominican Republic is your best bet. Sure, we’re biased (we’re the owners), but we haven’t come without evidence! We think you’ll love La Vista and Cofresí for the same reasons we do….

• Villas Cofresí in the Dominican Republic is simply one of the most beautiful places in the world to visit and we think our villa gives you one of the best views of the area to be had. After all, we didn’t name our house ‘La Vista’ for nothing.

• Especially when you live far away from one, there’s a lot to be said for spending a lazy day on the beach. Few beaches in the world can compete with golden Playa Cofresí only a short walk from La Vista. Of course, if you like to swim but prefer a pool to the ocean, you take a dip in one of La Vista’s balcony pools while enjoying a scenic ocean view at the same time.

• Dominican Republic cuisine is a mixture of Spanish, African and indigenous Taíno influences and it’s truly delicious. Obviously, you can find great Dominican cuisine in and around Villas Cofresí, but you can also sample other great cuisines from all over the world thanks to a mix of eclectic and sophisticated restaurants.

• There are plenty of other things to do in Cofresí like visiting the Ocean World Resort, sampling some local nightlife, or visiting historical sites. One thing we recommend is to spend a little time laying back at La Vista and just doing nothing. In our busy day-to-day lives, sometimes that’s one thing we don’t do often enough.
